How to get from Como to Bellagio: boat, bus or private driver.

Como and Bellagio are about 33 km apart along the lake road, the SP583, a little over an hour's drive. There are four real options: the slow or fast boat, the C30 bus, a private driver on the SP583 and, from the west shore, the car ferry from Cadenabbia. Here are times, limits and who each suits. By boat: slow or fast

From the Como pier the slow boat takes about 2 hours and calls at the villages of the first basin; the fast service takes about 45 minutes. Times, fares and last departures change with the season: check the operator's timetable on navigazionelaghi.it before you plan the day.

By bus: the C30 line

The C30 bus links Como and Bellagio along the SP583, the same narrow, scenic road the cars use. The ticket costs a few euro and buying on board adds a 1.40 euro surcharge. For journey time and frequency, check the operator's timetable, above all in the evening and on holidays.

By private driver: the SP583 door to door

Your SG4 Luxury Services chauffeur picks you up at your hotel, at the station or at the address you give in Como and drives the SP583 along the shore of the Como branch, through Blevio and Torno: about 33 km and a little over an hour in normal traffic. The fixed per-vehicle price is shown in the form and locked at booking.

From the west shore: the ferry from Cadenabbia

If you start from Cernobbio, Tremezzo or Menaggio there is no need to go back to Como: you follow the Regina state road to Cadenabbia (Tremezzo is about 29 km and 45 minutes from Como) and cross to Bellagio on the car ferry. The Regina is narrow and slow in season; for ferry runs, check the operator's timetable.

Discover Bellagio

What if you arrive from the airport or from Milan?

Malpensa to Bellagio is about 83 km and an hour and three quarters by car, Milano Centrale about 73 km and an hour and a half: there is no need to stop in Como to change vehicle. The private transfer starts in the arrivals hall, with a name sign and 45 minutes of waiting included, and has a fixed per-vehicle price, tolls included, shown in the form before you book. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup.

Boat and bus: timetables and limits

The boat is the most pleasant way to see the lake, but it follows a seasonal timetable and runs are reduced in bad weather or in the evening. The bus travels a narrow road, with times that stretch in summer. Either way you reach Bellagio at the pier or the bus stop, not at your hotel: check the operator's timetable and think of your suitcases on the stepped lanes of the centre.
